Please do not use other batteries. Many LiThio batteries can source only low currents below the specification of the RXM. Especially take care of the exact type number. The Saft type LS 14250C (note the 'C') is not usable.

Batteries from Saft, type LS 33600, and RS Components, no. 596-624, (supplied by Saft) are not usable with beacons manufactured before 2011.
All Argos X beacons include since 2011 a switch mode power supply allowing the usages of nearly all battery types.
